Is it possible to build an energy-sufficient and cost effective hippie commune for engineers using only solar power? Yes, it is. Even without hippies. This goofy question over coffee turned into our founders' MSc thesis of energy storage solutions and PhD on hydraulic turbine monitoring. The first commercial heat storage is connected to the Vatajankoski’s district heating network in Kankaanpää, Finland. Our pilot plant is connected to the district heating network of the City of Tampere, Finland. The solution can provide stable, affordable, clean energy to New York as well as to the distant villages.
